Just to confirm, is this the lot that it will be taking place in?

Image

If so, what "permanent fixtures" are there? I see lamp posts, but I thought Northlands put some curbs and big flower pots in there?

So any other details available? There was some mention of prizes at one point wasn't there?

Just trying to figure out if I should bring my old Azenis to burn off or old Kumhos, or old Hoosiers, or new Hoosiers.

Also, given the potential for more people milling about, are there any plans to have someone keep an eye on the pit area, so that we can still leave our things laying about without fear of them disappearing?

What other details are you looking for? I'm the Organizer. All info is on Karlo as in the post above.

Prizes will be 2 Gold Indy ticket packages for any public in attendance that put their name in a draw. There's also 2 Bronze Indy ticket packages for the competitors voted on by the public as a people's choice award - coolest car, best run, whatever they like.

There are no plans to police the pit area, we'll just have to keep our eyes open. I suggest bringing minimum stuff. We will have a Marshal in each run group assigned waiver duties, perhaps they can try to watch out for potential wheel and tire/tool thieves. My truck will be there, all are welcome to stash small stuff in the back under the box top, it won't hold many wheels/tires though.

I doubt there will be many public there, despite best efforts, there has been not much interest from other clubs, competitors or spectators. There are only 30 entrants so far.

There are permanent fixtures in these lots too - light standards, storm sewers and curbing in places. The course will be designed around them to be as safe as possible. You will want to go 9/10ths when in the proximity of these objects just the same. Remember this is a demonstration event, no points will be awarded, just for fun. No hitting stuff.

Sorry -- I really am interested, but CSCC has an event in Calgary on the same day.

My buddy is having a stag party 2 hours north of Edmonton, will be a 2 day stag party with paintballing the 2nd day, but I dont know if it is a friday-saturday, saturday-sunday, or if I will even be able to operate on sunday from drinking and paintball bruses (never been paintballing before so I think I will be picked on  )

No, we're planning on pre-registration only. Just because it will be a ridealong filled day.

I'd have been there also but am committed to going to Lethbridge to help out with their event.....unfortunate.

I think this is a great idea and good exposure for our sport.

I misspoke, the prizes will be as follows:

There will be one prize for the general public attending any event. The prize will be two Gold tickets for race day Sunday July 25 with pit walk through and paddock passes included.

There will be two prizes for participants in the show, awarded on the basis of a Peoples Choice vote. Each prize will include a three day Bronze pass for July 23/25 with pit walk through and paddock passes.

Thought I could do a walk up as I didn't register based on what I would be doing that weekend. (supposed to paint 2 bumpers for a friend and he was called in to work) so with free time for the weekend I was going to do a walk up and run the event.. Saw Grant mentioned that was a no no so I stayed home playing Internet racing.. Next time i'll make sure i'm not doing favours. :(

Hope it was a great event.!
